Selby Tennis' instructors and coaches has over 40 years of teaching tennis experience combined.

OUR MISSION is to help each student learn to love the game of tennis, while helping them develop the skills needed to be successful.

We are an active member of the USTA (United States Tennis Association) since 1995.

GREG SELBY

USPTR Certified Tennis Professional


With 20 plus years of teaching experience, he brings his passion and love for the game to each of his students. He played for Shepherd University and was MVP his junior year and graduated as the winningest player in Shepherd tennis history, winning a total of five state titles in singles and doubles. He still competes for USTA and helped his 40 and over mixed doubles team make a run to nationals. Greg has coached at the high school and collegiate level. He is now the assistant coach for Towson University Women's Tennis Team.

ALAN BROOKS

CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL INSTRUCTOR


Alan is a Professional Certified Instructor. He has 40 years of tennis playing and coaching experience. Alan has worked with many high level youth and is also the Assistant Coach and Trainer for the John Hopkin's Men's Tennis Team. He is also certified as a Tennis Performance Specialist, which is training for high level aspiring players. He is a dedicated Coach who knows how to help players reach their maximum potential.

GRAYSON SELBY

COUNTY CHAMPION


Grayson played number one throughout his high school career. He is also a County Champion and made several runs to the State High School Tournament. Grayson is the number one player for his college team, Harford CC. He has been working for his dad for more than five years teaching children the game of tennis. He loves the game and working with young kids. He also helps run some of the adult clinics, such as Cardio Tennis.

ABIGAIL THORNTON

COUNTY CHAMPION


Abigail is a highly decorated player. She played all four years in high school and played in many high level USTA junior tournaments. She played number one for her high school and was County Champion all four years and won the State Doubles Title in 2017. She now plays at Loyola University Maryland, a top Division 1 school. She is the top player for her team. She loves kids and is studying to become an elementary teacher.
